Here's Aquaman again, barging right in like he owns the place, which he kind of does I suppose. The letters page mentions two prior runs in ADVENTURE but there's more than two! This new series starts with some beautiful Dick Giordano art but unfortunately we're still dealing with the maudlin circumstances of the death of Aqualad and it isn't about to get any better here.

Adventure Comics # 474, August, 1980
No that isn't a nipple on the STARMAN splash, just an unfortunately placed fiber in the pulp paper...I think.
The wave of the future. THE NEW TEEN TITANS would arguably be the best written and drawn DC title of the entire decade of the eighties.
Why look who's back next month as part of the DC explosion! What is this the...fifth time?
Marv Wolfman takes over and tries perhaps a little too hard with Plas.

Adventure Comics # 473, July, 1980
Lots of ad fun this issue including OJ when he was a hero, Jack Davis sports art and the second Superman/Spider-Man.

Adventure Comics # 472, June, 1980
Some cool ads and typically entertaining art and stories but again nothing amazingly memorable. Surreally enough, I was talking with PLASTIC MAN writer Martin Pasko just last night online.

Adventure Comics # 471, May, 1980
I was 21 years old by this point but still reading comics. Somewhere in here, though, I dropped ADVENTURE just because it was getting dull in spite of the talent involved and at the higher prices I couldn't get as many comics as I once did.
